Where the Heck is Qatar?

Although I’ve gotten better at world geography through the years….this one had me stumped. After some research, I figured out just where this tiny “Pearl of the Persian Gulf” is located. DH is on a pass enjoying some R&R and says it is very warm, sunny and in the70’s….vs. in the teens.

I’m not sure he will be able to take pictures…etc so I found this blog report that gave me some insight to what he might be doing while there.

He did mention shipping containers being modified into quarters like this post states. The other thing I found strange, in one of these photos of a storefront…..all the clothing is in black. Everything.

My husband stayed in Qatar a few days earlier this year. I had a hard time finding it on a map, too!

Wow, living quarters in a shipping containers; that’s pretty wacky. They have a weapons training building built by shipping containers on our base; my husband practiced drills in them. Living in them, though, that’s interesting. Way to recycle!

Yes, I thought shipping containers made into quarters was strange……but I guess it works. He is loving the break and the warm weather!

Would you be able to take part in this? We’re preparing to send some inspiration overseas to our troops to tell them we’re all thinking of them back home. Please visit our blog http://www.kindnotes.wordpress.com and spread the word.
