New addition 5.4lbs

Our new addition! Baby Mac has made his appearance, roll out the red carpet!!

When I worked at a major Internet Provider many many years ago I remember hearing, “the internet will soon be like electricity, not having it will cause the interuption of everyday life”. The same could be said for the use of my computer, nevermind it being connected to the outside world.

For weeks I have been fighting with my laptop. It has been revived on a few occasions, but for the most part has been non-functioning. During this time I’ve had to do some traveling, school has let out and the list goes on. Having been in the technology waste land, I’m slowing getting back to civilization. Moving back and forth between the husband’s computers just wasn’t working….so I broke down and the husband agreed, he came home from his last trip with this new little baby. I’ve made the switch to the Mac world and have begun the work of piecing together my computer world, not to mention I think I need a new cell phone. That also means he gets his desktop and laptop back. I will be left with this little baby. Since my day job is all computer related, for me….using someone else’s computer is not my first choice. I really was holding out for my laptop to be fixed or that I would get a new one before transferring all my files to his computer. I didn’t want to transfer everything over only to have to do it all again a short time later…so that caused a dance between computers. Ohhhh to have one working machine with all files and programs humming at once!

I’ll be spending the next couple of days moving the backup files over here and getting folders / files in order. I am happy to report my Adobe software is loaded. In fact, I used Fireworks to resize the Baby Mac photo above! I still need to “transfer” the license since Adobe is so smart it knows I’m now on a new computer. I wish it was smart enough to just transfer all those files from that old computer to this one.

YAY!!! I got my MacBook at the end of March. It was a big exciting day. I went from a Dell that was so old and took literally 20 minutes from pushing “ON” to being able to use it to my new sweet MacBook that I can leave on all the time. I am very glad I made the move.

The comments don’t seem to be working right today!

Yes, it starts up so fast…that is pretty awesome…and it shuts down fast too. I have an external keyboard and mouse that I use with it so that helps some when it comes to the short cut keys. I still haven’t figured out the equivalent to Ctrl Z my favorite. I think I need “Mac for Dummies!”
