Who’s the Coach around here?!

We had a baseball game tonight and oh gosh, I think I have another reason why I miss soccer.  The playing field is bigger.

I think the best thing for kids playing a youth sport is to be FAR away from their parents “coaching”.  There should be some rule posted that says:

Rule #1:  Encourage your child to your hearts content! (example:  Good Job Johnny, Good Hit Johnny, Good Swing Johnny, Good Eye….etc)

Rule #2:  No Parent Coaching (Johnny throw it to 2nd! – when the play is at 1st, Johnny come home – when the coach says stay… etc.)

At least in soccer the kids aren’t as “close” to the parents, so the parent coaching isn’t as bad.  Plus, they get to sit on the bench far away from the over protective mom and the Pro scout / coach dad.
