Submariner Writes Inspiring Book

The husband and I (well mostly the husband at present) are writing a book.  He is downstairs writing while I’m over here surfing and trying to get “inspired” to write “my part”.

Talk about an inspirational story I heard about over at

Nader Elguindi was at the top of his career as a submarine nuclear engineer in the U.S. Navy when the unthinkable happened – an accident that nearly took his life! He rebounded from the accident and became the first naval officer to qualify in submarines with an artificial leg.

From an article from Charlotte Place:

“Knowing I have overcome something so adverse gives me a lot of confidence and peace of mind,” he adds.  “My spiritual faith, strength, personal resolve, and support of family and friends convince me that if one focuses on a goal, regardless of the obstacles, they can rise to the occasion.”

bookcover_sm3.jpgNadar was a submarine Lieutenant and nuclear engineer aboard the USS Birmingham in Pearl Harbor when he suffered severe injuries in a motorcycle accident.  Nadar has written a book about his life and his experiences in overcoming adversity.  It comes out April 9th.  The proceeds from the book go toward charities that support our injured troops at Walter Reed and other military hospitals.   Click here to read more and for info on ordering the book.  (here is the amazon linkClick here to read his interview on

If that’s not “inspiring” I don’t know what is.

I guess I better get back to the business at hand.

Congratulations Nadar
