Adjusting to Shore Duty

Adjustment #15  Husband coming home in the middle of the morning.

Never mind it is 945 and Im still in my pj’s.  I work from home…. so that is not uncommon.  He seems confused.  The UPS man doesn’t mind….why should he I’m thinking?  Long gone are days of the house being empty during the day……shore duty means any day at any time.

This morning I was on the phone with a friend (while Im working on my computer 😉 ) ……I hear the keys in the door……(jingle…jingle)

Oh gosh I have to go, I tell her….

My friend whispers “shore duty!”  and we quickly hang up.

He had taken the older boy to get his new drivers license of which he said he told me about yesterday, but I of course don’t remember that.

I better get myself together……shore duty!

🙂
